Which documents prove my identity?

One document from the SIA's group A list and two from group B, with one of the group B documents showing your current address.

Group A includes a current signed passport, a current UK photocard driving licence, a UK birth certificate issued within 12 months of birth, a UK adoption certificate, an HM Armed Forces Veteran Card, and some biometric residence permit cards. Group B includes recent bank, credit card or utility statements, council tax or mortgage statements, letters from HMRC, DWP or a local authority, and P45 or P60 statements. Two documents of the same type are not accepted, and documents printed from the internet are refused.

My documents are not in English

You need the original document and a translation from an approved translator, arranged and paid for by you.

The SIA accepts translations from embassies, high commissions and consulates, from translators accredited by the Institute of Translation and Interpreting or the Chartered Institute of Linguists, and from translation companies accredited by the Association of Translation Companies.
