Portugal: Certificado de Registo Criminal
You need this if you have lived in Portugal for six continuous months or more in the last ten years.
Who can apply
Portuguese nationals. A representative can apply with written consent. UK employers cannot apply.
Where
In Portugal, in person at the criminal identification service, a citizen shop or a district court office. From the UK, in person at the Portuguese consulate in London.
What to supply
- Original national identity card
- Completed application form, provided at the location
- For a representative, written authorisation and both identity documents
Translation
Certificates are issued in Portuguese and need an approved translation.
Watch out
Turnaround is quick for a clear record and longer where there is something to report.
