Poland: Information about an individual from the National Criminal Register (KRK)
You need this if you have lived in Poland for six continuous months or more in the last ten years.
Who can apply
Individuals, authorised representatives, and certain employers entitled under Polish law.
Where
In Poland, in person at the National Criminal Register in Warsaw or an information point in a court. From abroad, by post to the register, or online through the e-KRK platform with a qualified electronic signature.
What to supply
- Your full name, parents' names including mother's maiden name
- Date and place of birth, nationality and address
- Copy of a valid identity document for overseas applicants
- Proof of payment
- For a representative, an original signed power of attorney
Translation
Certificates are issued in Polish and need a translation from a translator the SIA accepts.
Watch out
The online route returns an XML file. A printout of it is not a document under Polish law, so plan for the paper certificate.
