Nigeria: Certificate of Good Conduct
You need this if you have lived in Nigeria for six continuous months or more in the last ten years.
Who can apply
Individuals in person. A prospective employer or a representative can apply with your written authorisation.
Where
In Nigeria, in person at the Central Criminal Registry in Lagos. Post, email and fax are not accepted. From the UK, through the Nigerian High Commission in London.
What to supply
- Application form, completed on site in Nigeria or obtained from the High Commission
- Valid international passport and copies
- Passport sized photographs
- Fingerprints, taken on site or by arrangement through the High Commission
- Payment of fees
Translation
Issued in English, so no translation is normally needed.
Watch out
UK applicants are given a letter so the Metropolitan Police can take their fingerprints. Turnaround is quoted on application, and is faster if a representative in Nigeria submits the form directly.
